A takoyaki plate looks simple. Its power requirements are not.
Zojirushi's Japan hot-plate family is a good example of a 1300W cooking appliance designed around Japanese household electricity.

The current 2026 EA-KL30 has three plates: a deep flat plate, grilled-meat plate and 30-hole takoyaki plate. Rated power is 1300W. Earlier EA-K-series manuals explicitly list AC100V 50/60Hz and state Japan-only use.

Japanese hot plates are often high-power appliances. Zojirushi's current EA-KL30 is 1300W, and the EA-K family documentation identifies Japan domestic AC100V use. Check the exact model manual before importing.
Why these are tempting to import
Japan-market hot plates often combine multiple cooking styles in one appliance: yakiniku, deep-pan cooking and takoyaki. That makes them attractive for overseas buyers who want a very “Japanese home cooking” setup.

Deep plate
About 3.5cm deep for cooking beyond basic grilling.
Yakiniku plate
Grooved plate designed to move rendered fat away from food.
Takoyaki plate
Thirty holes, approximately 43mm diameter each.
Older official EA-K-series manuals explicitly say AC100V 50/60Hz and that the appliance is designed for Japan only. Always confirm the exact current model's rating label as well.
What to check
EA-KL30, EA-KG20 and EA-KC10 are not the same package.
Read the manual / rating label.
Multi-plate models are bulky and can be expensive to ship.
Replacement plates and plugs may be Japan-specific.

Importing a Japanese hot plate can make sense if you specifically want takoyaki or multi-plate cooking, but it is a bulky, high-power appliance. Voltage and shipping cost come before novelty.
