THE SHORT ANSWER
Do not connect a Japan-only 100 V appliance directly to a 230 V outlet. A plug that physically fits can still expose the appliance to an unsupported supply. Confirm the exact unit, actual local conditions and manufacturer permission.
- Japan reference
- 100 V · 50 / 60 Hz
- Philippines reference
- 230 V · 60 Hz
- Key issue
- Connector fit does not verify voltage
Representative household conditions, not a measurement of your outlet. The exact rating label, manual and actual local supply take priority.
A familiar connector can be misleading
Official country references list representative Philippine supply as 230 V, 60 Hz with Type A/B connectors. Meralco’s service reference also lists 230 V services and a nominal 60 Hz frequency. These references do not measure the outlet in a particular building.
Japan’s 100 V reference is different. For an imported or second-hand product, confirm the input label on the unit you will receive; a seller’s generic statement that it works locally is not a substitute for its specifications.
Imported and second-hand units need exact identification
Ask for photographs that show the complete model number, rating label and supplied accessories. A missing label, changed cord or replacement charger makes verification harder. Do not borrow facts from a neighbouring model number.
For a rechargeable product, inspect the charger as well as the device. The DC output rating and the mains AC input rating serve different purposes. Record the power path instead of treating every label as a wall-input specification.
Check conversions before choosing accessories
An unsuitable input range is a reason to pause. Conversion equipment requires an exact permitted configuration, including the output supply, capacity, intended load and grounding. A brand-wide accessory list cannot establish that configuration.
Manufacturer prohibitions, active safety notices, regional restrictions and unavailable service are separate issues. Voltage conversion does not resolve them. The alternative may be a model intended for the local market.
From an online listing to a useful model check
Start with the exact model, then choose the Philippines in the checker. Review voltage, frequency and plug cards individually. Open the evidence and compare it with the photographed unit.
If the listing differs from the recorded Japan-market version, stop applying that result to the listing. A changed accessory or regional suffix may require another record and another set of official facts.
- Ask the seller for the full rating label and model suffix.
- Confirm the actual local supply before connecting equipment.
- Verify official overseas-use and conversion conditions.
- Separate service availability from electrical compatibility.
MOVE FROM GENERAL GUIDANCE TO YOUR MODEL
Check the exact model.
Use the full model number on the unit or charger. Missing evidence is reported as insufficient information.
Search a product name or the full model number. Confirm the exact suffix on the product label, box or manual.
Models with current official facts
These records have enough current evidence for a model page. This list is not a compatibility endorsement.
Questions before use
If the plug fits, can I use the appliance?
No. Physical fit does not establish an appropriate voltage, frequency or grounding arrangement.
Can an online listing replace a manufacturer manual?
A listing can help identify a product, but an unverified compatibility statement does not replace official evidence for the exact model.
What if my specific local power conditions differ?
Use the actual confirmed supply and the matching available profile. A representative country reference is not an outlet measurement.

Guide examples are separate from the model evidence database. A source on this page does not automatically verify another model or manufacturer.
