THE SHORT ANSWER

Check each appliance independently. Canada and Japan can use similar flat-pin plugs, but their representative household supplies are 120 V and 100 V. Do not round the equipment rating to match the outlet. A country guide cannot approve a household shipment or replace the exact model manual.

Representative household conditions, not a measurement of your outlet. The exact rating label, manual and actual local supply take priority.

Start with the destination

Canada and Japan can use similar flat-pin plugs, but their representative household supplies are 120 V and 100 V. Do not round the equipment rating to match the outlet.

For a move to Canada, separate a 60 Hz destination from a Japanese unit documented only for 50 Hz. Identify the actual device, rather than using the Japanese city of purchase as its specification.

Sort the household by power path

Separate direct-mains cooking and beauty appliances from cordless equipment with charging docks and battery devices with external chargers. The wall-connected component is the starting point for the electrical comparison.

A 100–240 V charger is not proof that a kettle or hair dryer has the same range. Make a separate record for each appliance, charger and required cord.

Choose based on intended daily use

If you cook rice daily, compare the documented input, control language and replacement inner-pot support of each exact cooker. If you rely on a purifier, confirm filters and any required app availability. These are your ownership needs, not assumptions about everyone in the destination.

Manufacturer-specific restrictions can rule out overseas use even when conversion equipment is sold. Read the product manual before deciding what to ship or buy.

Prepare a destination-ready inventory

Keep a model list with one official source for each verified specification and a visible field for anything not yet established. Use the product guides linked here for the next check.

Assess warranty, repair and regional functions alongside electricity. Import or shipping permission and carrier rules are separate requirements; this guide does not provide customs or legal advice.

  • Direct-mains cooking and heating equipment.
  • Hair tools, including any selector instructions.
  • Vacuum and purifier chargers, filters and replacement parts.
  • Camera, laptop and phone power supplies.

MOVE FROM GENERAL GUIDANCE TO YOUR MODEL

Check the exact model.

Use the full model number on the unit or charger. Missing evidence is reported as insufficient information.

Models with current official facts

These records have enough current evidence for a model page. This list is not a compatibility endorsement.

Questions before use

Does this guide approve my exact product?

No. It explains the checks; a model-specific conclusion requires current official evidence for your full model number and destination.

What should I do when a required fact is missing?

Keep that requirement unresolved. Find the exact official manual or ask the manufacturer to clarify the model, component and intended use before connecting it.

Can an adapter resolve every requirement?

No. Connector fit, voltage, frequency, manufacturer support, warranty, repair and regional functions are separate questions.
